Reasons to live in a small town!

It just so happened that I was transplanted in Bemidji for the summer. I did not anticipate that I would enjoy my time in this small town, and not knowing a soul. But I have had a blast! A very good friend of mine was here for a couple of months but I have made other friends that very entertaining. What makes a small town fun? This a question I asked myself many times and I have put my ideas together a this is what I have come up with: everyone knows everyone except you, tourists are annoying to the locals evidently (hello, economy), people are very comfortable acting like themselves (could be good or bad), nearly everyone in married or toothless, or they are BSU students, the girls at the coffee shop know your name, the airport and the mall are 5 minutes from nearly everywhere, people from other little towns think I go to school in a big city, locals hang out at all the bars, when you get pulled over 4 cops show up (boredom), everyone stares, no one thinks its weird they live in such desolation, you see the same people driving to work everyday, everyone knows who the guy is who rides his bike backwards (not joking), movie hopping the theatre is not frowned upon...the list could go on and on. The smallness could drive me crazy, I vote for vacation property here...next destination please.
